Beatrix Potter Chapter started in 1984 and meets in member's homes on the third Monday or Tuesday evening of the month.

We are a varied group of women both professional and homemaker that enjoy serving the DBE on its various Boards and raising money for Mountbatten House - an assisted living facility built and maintained by the DBE. The main fundraiser in the Houston area is the annual fall Bazaar which raises over $20,000 in one day for charity. Beatrix Potter's contribution to the Houston Bazaar for many years has been the pet boutique: members bake gourmet dog biscuits, make catnip balls and bring together an eclectic group of articles for the animal lover. The Chapter also organizes the annual Houston Bazaar raffle.

And every November they prove the old adage "women were born to shop" buying the Christmas gifts for the residents of Mountbatten House using money donated by the DBE Chapters in the Southern District expressly for this purpose.
